Sunday’s Jeremy Chou and Shannon Lee Images Workshop recap….
I don’t know why I was so nervous driving over. And even MORE nervous when I got out of the car. It felt like the first day of school all over again. That feeling of butterflies in the stomach and sweaty palms. “Are they going to like me? Will they think my pictures aren’t good? What if I ask a stupid question?” Then I saw a sign outside with the words “The Esplanade” and I felt home (more about that in a later post). Okay maybe not home, but I felt comfortable enough to keep walking towards the lobby of Hotel Maya.
When the other participants started to fill the gorgeous outdoor cabana that was reserved for us at El Fuego, I started to feel a bit at ease. I kept thinking to myself, here were my peers — people whom I could connect with, whom I share a passion with and we were all there for the same reason. And we did connect. Over an endless brunch and the hours that would follow, we chatted about our backgrounds, inspirations, aspirations, and even perspiration! (Oh yeah, we’re family now!)
Jeremy Chou and Shannon Lee did an awesome job! My only complaint is that there weren’t enough hours in the day for me to squeeze every ounce of knowledge I could out of these two amazingly talented photographers. (I even milked every last minute I could at the end of the day by getting a one-on-one with both of them!). A HUGE thank you to Jeremy and Shannon for making this workshop happen and sharing their knowledge with us. I’m looking forward to more in the future!
An extra huge thank you goes out all of the amazing vendors from the day! Especially Chris Cron who had to sport the leather jacket in 90 plus degree weather without breaking a sweat!

Don’t those red velvet cakes look delicious in the background? Well I can tell you they were!

In case you were wondering, that’s my engagement ring on the right below.

Libby, your eyes are amazing! I really could stare at them all day. But that would be kind of creepy.
